This Privacy Policy applies to the Android application “Obleek” (package name: com.vbrazhnik.obleek), available on Google Play (“the App”), developed by Vladyslav Brazhnik (“the Developer”). It explains how the App handles information when you use it.
Obleek is a personal budget and transaction tracker. All of your financial data stays on your device — the App has no account system and no server of its own. The App does not contain ads and does not include any third-party SDKs other than an optional, off-by-default analytics library described below.
The accounts, transactions, categories, recurring plans, tags, and notes you create are stored only in a local database on your device, so the App can display and manage them. This information is never read by anyone but you, and is never uploaded, logged, or sent anywhere by the Developer.
To convert between currencies and show approximate values for BTC/ETH balances, the App periodically fetches public exchange rates from two third-party rate providers, ExchangeRate-API and CoinGecko. These requests only ask for a currency or ticker code (for example, “USD” or “BTC”) — no account data, transaction data, or device identifiers are included. The App only reads rates from these services; it never sends any of your data to them.
The first time you open the App, you are asked whether to allow anonymous usage analytics. This is opt-in — the App works the same either way, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy.
If enabled, this is handled by Google’s Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. The App reports only anonymous, structured events, such as which screen was opened or that a transaction of a given type was added. These events never include amounts, account names, categories, tags, notes, or any other content from your transactions. If you allow analytics, anonymous crash reports (for example, a stack trace and basic device information) may also be sent to help fix bugs. None of this is tied to your name, email, or any other personal identifier, because the App has no accounts or sign-in of any kind.
Android’s built-in device backup may include the App’s local database as part of your regular phone backup (for example, to your Google Account), the same way it backs up other apps on your device. Your app-lock PIN and your theme preference are explicitly excluded from this backup and never leave your device.
You can also manually export your data to a JSON file, or import a previously exported file, from within the App. This is entirely under your control — the file is written to (or read from) a location you choose on your device, and is never transmitted anywhere by the Developer.
If you choose to enable the optional app lock, the PIN you set is stored on your device only as a salted, one-way hash — never in plain text — and is never transmitted anywhere. If your device supports it, you may instead unlock the App using your device’s biometric authentication (fingerprint or face); this is handled entirely by your device’s operating system, and no biometric data is ever seen by the App or the Developer.
The Developer does not share, sell, or transmit your financial data to third parties, because that data never leaves your device in the first place. The only outside services the App talks to are the public exchange-rate providers described above and, only if you opt in, the analytics/crash-reporting service described above.
The App does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
The Developer may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
